What scoring nuances are in Fantaball?

1. We feel that your players should be awarded for workhorse-like performances. If we are going to give points for receptions it only makes sense to reward completions and rushing attempts. If your RB is plugging away for 25 carries we believe this has performance value and should be rewarded. This is the same for the QB’s completing many passes along with RB’s and WR/TE’s catching many balls. We believe that receptions should be rewarded for true fantasy value and not a rate of one point per catch for all positions. Our system eliminates the high rewards for the short dump passes to the backs and increases the value for true performance catches. Compared to the WR's, we have enhanced the TE's points per catch while dimishing the RB's.
2. QB's should have a higher value for TD’s thrown but at the same time should be penalized more for throwing interceptions. There are only so many RB’s to go around as we have all experienced in our drafts. In too many leagues the scoring system diminishes the value of the QB except for the very few elite fantasy studs. This causes the remaining QB’s to be chosen in the very late rounds because of their fantasy parity. We have strengthened our WR’s values by adding a third WR slot to our Std roster lineups. We believe we have created a more balanced fantasy value for the roster positions in this manner. RB’s may still be king but now they have challengers.
3. Our defenses should be awarded for their fantasy performance and we believe an interception is worth half a touchdown and it should be rewarded the same as the QB is penalized for throwing one. Sacks are performance valued at two points. Recovered fumbles can be forced or sometimes occur with no credit to the defense and is therefore aptly rewarded a single point. If the defense has a terrible day in which they allow over 30 points or allows extreme yardage they should be penalized and we award negative points when this occurs.

Why mid season leagues?

1. We understand that the draft or auction does not always go as planned.
2. We know that serious injuries can do damaging blows to your season early on.
3. We understand our friends are sometimes a little behind in the fantasy game revolution and later realize how much fun you are having and don’t want to wait until next year to join.
4. Your sleepers look like they are in deep freeze and are waiting to be awoken in the 24th century.
5. You just didn’t realize the fun you were missing out on and want to multiply it by joining other leagues.

 

Why no special team scoring?

We feel that the special team scoring is more random than as a result of planning. Why are the special teams generally included with the defense? This may increase scoring but not as a result of your hard work. We don’t believe you should lose to a team that happened to have a special team score counted against you just because it was tied to his defense. We will award the player who scores the special team score because we believe that can be factored into a player’s value. If special team scoring was to be done correctly, we believe it should have a separate category. We believe special team scoring should have a separate category if it is to be factored correctly in the fantasy game. We feel it does not have enough fantasy value to create as such.

 

Why are the playoff determinations done by division winners and by total points winners?

We understand that during the season you will lose games even though you were a week’s top scoring franchise. Just bad luck on occasion will cost you victories. We will reward the top scoring teams for the season regardless of the losses they achieve due to the luck of the draw. We do this by choosing our playoff's wildcard teams based solely on the team's high point totals. If your team scores high throughout the season but still loses games, you are still deserving at having a shot at the league championship.

 

How easy is it to use the draft or auction software?

Whether you decide to use the live format or the email option to assemble your team, you will find it is quite easy and simple to use. We suggest that you participate in a mock version just to acquaint yourself with the procedures and ease of use. How long does an auction or draft take to complete?

An average time to complete a live draft or auction is roughly three hours. Understand that it may on occasion take less time but can run higher due to the individual owners in the leagues. The email drafts can take upto five days to a week and less if predrafting is used on a regular basis. Please predraft when necessary and friendly reminders are encouraged for your slower players.

 

Why is the prize schedule set up this way?

We believe that if you are going to play fantasy football and be good at it you should be rewarded. Why pay a prize for someone below third place? We don’t pay nickle and dime prizes for these lesser places because we believe you wouldn’t want this. We believe in paying all our winning teams top dollar. If you desire an even more extreme payout we offer our “winner takes all prizes” leagues. In this league there is no second place!

 

What is the wireless scoring ?

We have the ability for you to check your league's scoring by PDA or web enabled device. When you are away from your computer, you will always know how you stand during games.

 

I don't see my preferred style of play at the price I want.

If you desire a game at your price level don't hesitate to ask for your game and desired specifics.

 

What are the Draft King leagues?

These are hands off style leagues after your draft has completed. Your optimal starting lineup is chosen by the highest scoring players on your roster. There is no trading or free agent pickups. Prizes are awarded at the end of the year based on your total points scored through sixteen weeks. We pay through fourth place on these leagues using the Regular prize schedule with fourth place paid the total points award.

 

Can I pay using a check or money order?

Do you have live scoring?

Yes, the scoring is updated every 90 seconds, so you always know where you stand in your contests.

 

What if my league doesn't fill?

We will do our best to get you in a fantasy game that you like. If it does not work out for you we will same day refund with Paypal. No two weeks to wait for a check. So please sign up at no risk and no delay!

 

Are there any fees for transactions?

No, the only fee you will ever pay is the initial entry fee.
